History

Carl, Denise and Jake Feinberg have been providing professional security service for more than 51 years. They are the owners of Carl's Locksmith Service, formerly at 444 Second St., now at their new location, 1173 Bedford St. Fall River, Ma.

The change was a very positive one for both the business and the community. The new location is bigger and better. The added space allowed Carl to add to his already extensive displays of safes and security hardware.

Almost every type of key imaginable graces the walls, including skeleton keys of long ago. The store can also furnish customers with regular, restricted, and high security keys that many manufacturers are now using, including domestic and foreign autos. Some of the newer types of keys now have small computer chips  built into them for much higher degrees of security.

The Feinberg's' customers can be looking for new keys or locks for their homes, or some special types of locking devices for unusual applications.

Other services include lock and safe openings and repairs, installing deadbolts, panic hardware, door closers, hinges, access control systems from push-button to card and electronic, and custom designed master key systems. A large selection of safes is also on display in their store.

Carl's also specializes in safe deposit box work such as opening and repairing, and provides services for most of the area banks and credit unions to help them maintain their equipment.

Carl Feinberg started locksmithing as a hobby back in 1970. Within a few months the hobby grew into a full-time career. He operated as a full-time mobile service until 1983, when he expanded to a full-service shop as well as his mobile service.

Denise Feinberg came on board in 1983 as an inside service technician to help Carl with the growing business. Her interest in the locksmith trade grew and she has played an important role in Carl's Locksmith Service ever since. Carl and Denise keep up with their education in the locksmith industry to stay abreast of the ever-changing security needs of their customers. Annually, they attend classes offered by the Associated Locksmiths of America, The Massachusetts Locksmith Association.

Carl Feinberg is recognized by ALOA as being a certified master locksmith, having completing more than 40 exams. Denise Feinberg has recently passed her last exam and is now recognized by ALOA as one of only 13 women certified master locksmiths in the United States and the only woman CML in the New England area.

As always, the staff at Carl's is looking forward to serving the community's security needs. They hope to see many familiar faces as well as new ones at their new location.

MEET OUR TEAM

Denise A. Feinberg CML

Owner/Locksmith
Denise is now the owner of the family business, Carl’s Locksmith Service. She started working with Carl, her husband in 1984. Denise is a Certified Master Locksmith, and belongs to the Massachusetts Locksmith Association and the Associated Locksmiths of America. In 1992 she completed testing by the Associated Locksmiths of America and was one of the first of 13 women to become a Certified Master Locksmith in the United States. She enjoys working in the shop and helping her customers with any lock issue that they bring in. She is a firm believer that if she can’t answer the question she will honestly tell them, and see if she can find the information for the customer. Denise also enjoys going to the yearly trade shows to get the latest info on new products and spending time with family, especially her grandchildren who you may find running around the shop.

Carl L. Feinberg CML

Founder/Former Owner & now our Consultant
Carl started this business in 1970 as a hobby, which lasted about 2 weeks and has grown to a successful, professional locksmith business servicing the surrounding communities. Carl is a Certified Master Locksmith, and belongs to the Massachusetts Locksmith Association, Associated Locksmiths of America, and the Safe and Vault Technology Association. Carl still attends classes twice a year to keep abreast of the new technology in the locksmith industry that he can share with?customers. He enjoys going to the trade shows as well as the area home shows. Carl enjoys teaching his grandchildren how to cut keys when he’s is the shop helping out with pending jobs.

Jacob Feinberg CRL, CPS

Locksmith – Safe & Vault Specialist
Jacob started in the business at the ripe age of 5 years old doing things around the shop like cutting keys, rekeying locks, etc. He started taking classes when he turned 16, and goes to all the trade shows with his parents and takes an average of 10 to 15 classes every year. Jacob is Certified Registered Locksmith and Certified Professional Safe Tech. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Locksmith Association, and their past president,  Safe and Vault Technology Association, the National Safeman’s Organization and, Associated Locksmiths of America.

Our philosophy at Carl’s Locksmith Service is that every customer we help should be able to have the type of security they need. Whether for a home or business, we can provide a system that will best fit their security needs. Many people and businesses believe that costs for security are beyond their understanding, but that is not always true.
